The worst has happened...

...during last night's wedding reception...Riley Paige Anderson lost her purple pacifier that she so lovingly refers to as "Paci". Don't get me wrong, we are glad it is gone, we were going to do this in a week or so...but we are out of town, away from home and it's just too much. While she was too tired last night after the busy day of festivities to even notice(she fell asleep in my arms and slept fine all night)...she refuses to nap this afternoon. She wandered around with tears calling, "paci, paci" and it turned to screaming and her being absolutely beside herself. Daddy finally strapped her into her car seat and left. I hope when he returns she is asleep. Otherwise Travis will be even more grumpy than he already is having to deal with a fussy little girl and a wife who doesn't like being away from home. (Travel is hard with kids...different surroundings, messed up schedules, diets, less privacy, packing for extra people, non-child proof places, etc.) I am just a sit around at home kinda girl. There is no place like home! But we are happy to see the family :) It sure takes a lot out of me though and this is added stress. It breaks my heart to see her so sad. Paci has been a part of her for her whole life (all 618 days of it!). It is hard to see your kid so sad. I guess it is a blessing, really...but I still think this was the worst possible time for it to happen.

YAY! Back to the blogging world!

Wow…where do I even begin? I have some catching up to do. I never intended to take that long of a blogging break but life keeps me busy. We are settled into our place in Rexburg now and it feels like home. The week of moving was a little crazy but that kind of thing always is. Riley adjusted quite well. I thought it would be harder on her; but I find no matter where we are, if we are all there together she seems content. Tax season is OVER! And Travis is around more which is nice! Not to mention he no longer has an hour worth of commuting each day. He did however go buy a golf pass for the season. :P Riley had a rough week or so after moving because she had new teeth coming in. She had a fever for a couple days and wasn’t sleeping through the night. That was really hard to deal with. She seems much better now, however. In fact, while teething she hardly ate a thing and now she is eating everything in sight. I can't seem to keep her full. Isabelle is getting so big! She has completely outgrown her colicky stage (I think) and is quite pleasant unless she needs changed or fed. She will occasionally get really fussy even if she is dry and fed and I find if I lay her in her bed she puts herself right to sleep without a single whimper. I think sometimes she is just over stimulated and likes to get away to peace and quiet. Our house can be hectic with a busy toddler. Some of Isabelle’s favorite things are laying on the floor and eating her toes, babbling more and more, getting attention from anyone who will give it, being held and bounced around, smiling with her tongue out, and watching Riley play. She has rolled over only twice from front to back as she hates being put on her stomach. Riley was way ahead of her when it comes to this skill. Izzy will come close to rolling but just hasn’t gotten the hang of it yet. She loves to chew on her hands still but has finally started to take a pacifier. While I am not the biggest fan, it’s easier to take a pacifier away than fingers when that time comes! The day after we moved in, our neighbor’s below us brought us a plate of rice krispy treats and invited us to dinner that Sunday. It was so sweet and it was nice to get to know them. They have two little boys that are 13 months apart and just slightly older than our girls. They asked us if we wanted to have date nights each week and we could swap babysitting for each other. So finally after months and months of not dating…Travis and I had a date this past Saturday! I think it will be a nice way for me to get away from the kids but it was weird. I am so used to them being with me all the time. So yeah, our neighbors are really awesome and we appreciate their friendliness and look forward to getting to know them better. Being back in Rexburg has allowed us to get to see some old friends a little more but most of them will be leaving the area in the next couple months. They are moving on to further schooling elsewhere and while it is sad to see them go it is exciting for them. I have about 3 weeks worth of pictures to put up so I have attached what I could below. This weekend we are In Coeur d’Alene for Darcy’s wedding and we are so excited to be with family, go to the temple we were sealed in, and to meet our new niece/cousin Camryn! Anyway, we will post lots of beautiful pictures of the festivities very soon! And once we get home…Riley will be getting rid of her “paci” hopefully. Wish us luck!

Our Look-alike Meters!

Ok, so I know I tried Riley's face 3 times...but I had to because all I ever hear is how much my kids look like their dad...well FACE RECOGNITION seems to think otherwise with Riley! haha. And then our sweet little Izzy...I did her twice as well, just to see what it came up with! What a nice mix! I would like to think this is accurate. Then I decided I would compare Travis to his parents and me with mine!

Isabelle's first experience with rice cereal

I know she gagged a little at first but compared to Riley's first time with rice cereal I would call this a total success. Riley had one little taste and cried and didn't want to open her mouth for anything after the first bite. I think Izzy was definitely ready though because she will open her mouth if anything (and I mean ANYTHING) comes remotely toward it. She also loves chewing on things and loves to watch us eat. Keep checking back as I hope to get a video on here of her giggling in the next few days if I can!

What a week...

I have been keeping very busy the past couple weeks. The big move is now less than a week away and I am dreading it more than ever. We had a nice General Confrence weekend with the exception that Travis had to work all day Saturday then came home just to turn around and leave for Priesthood session. At least Darcy and Adam visited for the second Saturday session to break up the monotony of my days and to play with the girls. I LOVE COMPANY especially this late in tax season! This week has kept me busy with more packing while juggling the girls daily schedules. It is a rare moment that they nap very long at the same time. But I cherish those moments. I feel like a bad mom lately but I have to get packed up!! Travis worked a couple 11 hour days this week....add in his commute to and from work and that makes for over 12 hours gone. It is a long day for him but it is long for me as well. Tax season is almost over which is nice but then a whole new set of challenges will come along. I think he will begin studying for his CPA exams soon. AND he has been talking about golfing for weeks now that we have warmer weather...so it is only a matter of days until he decides to go check out the courses :P Oh JOY. I get kind of used to him not being around. But I do miss him so much. Once tax season ends and he is around I am sure that will take getting used to again (in a good way) plus the girls and I will be very glad to have our daddy and husband back. Riley misses him so much all day. She is so excited when he comes through the door at the end of the day, just like the song "I'm so Glad When Daddy Comes Home." One highlight of our week is now that the writers strike is over we finally got to see a new episode of The Office. We sure like our TV but I know we watch too much of it. Some of our other favorites are The Biggest Loser, Survivor, and American Idol. And that is only a few. We look so forward to May when "So You Think You Can Dance" starts back up! Riley is as funny as ever. Her newest obsessions are Nemo, Happy Feet, and monkeys because of the movie "Tarzan". She goes around saying "Ooo ooo ooo, ah ah" like a monkey. It is soooo cute! Riley also got to go to a friend's house this week! My friend Amanda offered to take Riley Wednesday afternoon so I got get some stuff done. She has a daughter Riley's age so it was perfect! Thanks again, Amanda! And Riley continues to grow and learn and play with her sister. That's all that is new with her. Isabelle is 4 MONTHS OLD ALREADY! She got her four month shots yesterday and has two sore little legs. I don't notice that much of a difference in her fussiness because she is a fussy girl anyway but she is growing out of that stage. The shots have affected her appetite but I decided to give her rice cereal tonight for the first time anyway. I will post a video clip of that asap. She weighs 14 pounds 5 ounces putting her in the 75th percentile for weight and she was in the 97th for her height! I have a big girl! She has some really chunky thighs! They are adorable. I also hope to catch her laughing soon and video that for on here. Today I went over to a friend's house to learn how to beautify my blog and so cannot take credit for knowing what I am doing...I had a good teacher and I was clueless before now. Thanks Dana! Anyway, that is what's new with us. Hopefully the move doesn't kill me and you will soon hear that we are settled and happy in Rexburg again. Enjoy the following photos! And now for great, new Riley sleeping pics. We have made the transition from crib to toddler bed by taking the front of the crib off and putting up the half-rail. She actually does quite well in it; staying in bed when we put her there. My fear was that she would get out and play all night. It took only a day or two for her to get it though. One morning this is how we found her: fast asleep, DEAD asleep. Travis thought it was hilarious because we could say she fell asleep saying her prayers, kneeling there by her bed. Beautiful baby
